Water Polo

Water Polo Lessons

Elm Park’s Water Polo lessons are for children interested in the sport of Water Polo and have little to no experience. Lessons occur 2x week for 30 minutes each (see weekly schedule), where players will learn the fundamentals of water polo. They will develop key technical and endurance skills such as treading water as well as how to shoot and pass the ball. The lessons are a great way to try the sport without needing to commit to a training schedule or weekly competition games.

Water Polo Team

Elm Park’s Water Polo team is for anyone 15 years and under interested in the sport of Water Polo. At Elm Park Pool, we encourage participation from members of all levels, regardless of experience. Water Polo practices occur 2x per week, where players will learn the fundamentals of the game such as team offensive and defensive strategies. Players will also develop their individual skills such as swimming, passing, and shooting the ball.

Players are also encouraged to participate in as many of our 5 weekly water polo games as possible. Boys play Tuesday nights and Girls play Friday nights, with start times ranging from 5:30-7:30. Games typically last approximately 45 minutes. Depending on the year, the teams may instead combine, with boys and girls playing mixed team games on Tuesdays. Team Elm Park also competes in an annual charity water polo tournament in July as well as league playoffs in August (see monthly schedule for game dates).
